Grace, frustration, and forgiveness

Leaders in ministry who experience moral failures are often not restored. Especially when their sin has anything to do with sex. The church incorrectly labels these pastors as sexual addicts, because of their ignorance, and more so because organizationally the church system is afraid.

When fear runs a church instead of grace, the church is not only stunted and ineffective. When churches respond this way, they have actually lost the focus and mission to be Jesus to the world. This means being Jesus to and including the “fallen” pastors.

Maybe if the church focused on its mission, more than its reputation, systemically there would be less falling by church leaders…

Maybe if all of us practiced a definition of grace, as God truly intended, that grace is actually God empowering us to see ourselves, and others, the same way HE sees us…
